Song Sneak Preview
Look for an otherwise unpublicized recording of the song "Just In Time To Fall Down" at MP3.com. The track is attributed only to "Fox," but it's clearly Ben performing it. This makes the third known Ben song along with "Broken Tonight," which was performed at some JT shows in the past, and "It May Take Some Time" on the Delias sampler CD mentioned below.

Ben Taylor and mom Carly Simon have recorded a new version of the classic song "My Romance" for a Ralph Lauren fragrances TV ad campaign. The ad is airing now through Christmas, then will appear again around Valentine's Day. Thanks to Charissa Garner.

Ben and Jay Moloney
The recent suicide of high-profile Hollywood agent Jay Moloney had a strange, sad connection to Ben Taylor since Ben was the one who found his friend's body. Moloney had hanged himself in his own apartment and Ben was apparently visiting him when he made the discovery. Moloney had represented top talent including Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, David Letterman, and Dustin Hoffman, but had recently fallen on hard times associated with his drug abuse.

Album Delayed
Ben's label, WORK Group Records, is reportedly in turmoil. This means Ben's album may be delayed until early 2000.

Album News
Industry publication ICE Magazine reported that Ben's debut album was due out this month, but now it appears that the album has been pushed back yet again -- possibly as late as the beginning of next year. We do know that the album's name is "Green Dragon, Name A Fox" and that it will be released on Sony's WORK Group Records. Thanks to several folks who reported about the ICE Magazine sighting.

There's also confusion about tour dates after Ben's two announced dates were cancelled at the last minute. As soon as we hear of any confirmed dates they'll be reported here and on the TOUR page.

Ben's Album
Ben is currently recording and is about six months away from a release on Sony's Work Group Records. He's also performing with dad JT at many of this summer's shows. He usually performs his own song, "Broken Tonight," at the beginning of the second set.

Ben has been making on-stage appearances at some of the recent JT shows, singing backup on "Shower the People" and doing a duet of "Dixie Chicken" with Dad. Most interestingly, he performed a song solo at the Moline show. Its title was "Broken Tonight." Thanks to Jeff Larson and others.

Bill Jones reports that JT himself told him Ben Taylor is going into the studio to "lay down some tracks" with veteran producer Arif Mardin. No other details for now.

Just a quick update on Ben's recent activities: He showed up on stage with dad JT throughout the recent summer tour, singing one or two songs with JT each time. He's also prominent on mom Carly's new "Film Noir" album.
